Road of Death Claims Another Victim

The world’s most dangerous road, the Unduavi-Yolosa Highway in Bolivia has claimed another cycling victim.

It has the macabre name ‘The Road of Death’ due to the number of Bolivian buses that have tumbled off it’s cliffs over the years. Most road traffic now follows a new paved highway, but the old dirt track is very popular for extreme mountain bikers.

The cyclist from Britain, was hit by a vehicle which apparently suffered a tyre blow out as it was overtaking a group of cyclists. 8 people from the vehicle were also killed. The Times has a full report of the accident.

It is a tragedy for an adventurous cyclist to lose his life in this way.
