The Pedestrian Menace

Not all of our cycling troubles come from cars. When cycling on bike paths you will get just as much trouble from pedestrians. Perhaps not the dangerous kind but definitely inconvenient. I am sure you know the types I mean here - the day dreamer, the wayward walker, the unrestrained child, the unlovable dog and the ear-phoned jogger.

7 Reasons To Hate Cyclists

Over at Yellow Brick Road, Adrian has posted a very interesting research piece on Hating Cyclists. By collating 570 comments in relation to a recent road-rage event, Adrian has defined 7 reasons that drive the negative perceptions of cyclists. I guess the big question here is what can we do about it and how can we possibly alter the perceptions of millions of motorists.

Superior + Cheaper = Cheaperior

We don’t really have a word in the English language that means better and cheaper. So given the current bike boom being driven by higher gas prices QuickRelease TV is proposing Cheaperior as a new bike promoting word.

Happy Birthday - Bike Snob NYC

Bike Snob NYC turned 1 yesterday and does he certainly have a lot to celebrate. Within a year Bike Snob NYChas become one of the very top cycling blogs - largely driven by fantastic writing. In his Happy Birthday To Me message, Bike Snob talks about posts that have had in excess of 200 comments.

In 8 weeks at Cyclepig I haven’t yet reached 200 comments in total…..um so all comments below will be very gratefully received :-)
